Wow, another crazy week. I thought I would have more time this week, but I had even less. Although, I do have more progress than last week. 🙂 I really don’t enjoy working on the dream house right now (because of how tedious the work is). But, I will continue to push on, and hopefully next week I will have more progress. Continue reading

Projects Update #18 “Jelly Bean”
This is going to be a quick update this week. I didn’t have time to work on any of my usual projects because of some work around the house, but I do have something I think you guys are going to like. Introducing one of my new shaders: Jelly Bean.
Post-Pro: only slight noise removal in Gimp. This is my first shader that I’m doing. I am pretty close to calling it finished. What do you guys think? That’s it for this week. I hope to have a lot more progress next week.
Projects Update #16
This has been an exciting week. A lot has gone on, and I am really excited about how the shader pack is coming along. I also haven’t forgotten my other projects. For the next couple of weeks, you won’t really see any breathtaking changes on the house, although there will be progress. The tank is slowly, but surely, coming along. I’m not sure how I feel about the game. And I completely redesigned the spectacles. Continue reading
Projects Update #15
I have a lot of exciting news this week! Not only do I have a really cool image for the tank, but I think I figured out what shader I’m going to do. Also, I did a little work on the steampunk competition entry. Last week this blog set a new record of 248 views in one day, so thank you guys! Continue reading
PBR Shading: An Introduction
Although it is nothing new, physically based rendering (PBR) has received a lot of attention recently. PBR shading tries to emulate the way objects react to light in the real world. Because of this, it has become widely popular in the gaming industry as it provides more realistic results with a faster workflow. By using real world principles, PBR shaders react much more realistically and stay more consistent under different lighting conditions. Join the new generation of artists and continue reading to see how to use these in your workflow. Continue reading
Projects Update #13
Oh no! Not the 13th update. 😉 Thanks guys for all the feedback on the site; I really like the new design. Also be sure to vote on what shader or shader pack you want. And make sure to fill out in the “Other” field what kind you want (e.g. concrete, glass etc.). This week I worked a lot on the house, as I’m getting excited about taking it into Blender. I also did some work on the tank. Continue reading to check out my progress. Continue reading

Sintel’s Portrait
With this project, I really wanted to try my hand at posing. It was fun but challenging. This was also my first attempt at using PBR shaders in a project. I really enjoyed using them, as it was much easier to achieve the look I wanted.
I hope you guys like it!
Projects Update #12
Hey everyone! This week I got my schedule all figured out, so you should be seeing more consistent results from now on. I finished Sintel, which I will be posting tomorrow, so stay tuned. I also did a fare amount of work on the house, which only needs the second story added before I take it into Blender. Continue reading
Projects Update #11
So to start things off, I’m sorry for missing a post on Thursday. But…I was watching the Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Live Stream. It was awesome! If you haven’t seen the trailer for the new movie or Star Wars Battlefront be sure to check them out. This week I focused on finishing up Sintel and also the beginning of my game. Continue reading
